• South Carolina College- and Career-Ready Science Standards 2021

The South Carolina College- and Career-Ready Science Standards 2021 were officially approved by the State Board of Education and the Education Oversight Committee on June 14, 2021. This is a huge success for students of South Carolina, and we thank the many hours of over 500 SC science teachers, informal science educators, representatives of higher education, business and industry representatives, community members, parents, national science education leaders, as well as recent SC graduates who collaborated to revise our science standards for the students of SC.

Biology Content Information

The Office of Assessment and Standards (OAS) assembled a committee of Life Science classroom teachers to create courses for the Biology Content section of the South Carolina College- and Career-Ready Science Standards 2021. The Performance Expectations (PEs) were aligned with three high school science courses: Biology 1 (as assessed by the End of Course Examination Program [EOCEP]), Biology 2, and Anatomy and Physiology.
