Samples of the new item types have been developed for inclusion in the Online Tools Training (OTT). The Online Tools Training (OTT) for SC READY and EOCEP can be accessed via the OTT module (using Google Chrome).
Starting in the 2024-2025 school year, the extended-response portion of SC READY will be a “Text-Dependent Writing” (or TDW) item. This type of item requires that students read a passage or passages and respond to a prompt or task while drawing upon the text(s) for their written responses. The mode of writing assessed by the TDW is grade-band and mode specific.

Beginning in the 2025-26 school year, students taking SC READY Math in grades 4-8 will have reference sheets available in the online system for online testers and as a paper supplement for paper testers. These references sheets include grade-level conversions and equations students may use while taking SC READY.
