Mrs. Joyce Crimminger represents the Sixth Judicial Circuit on the South Carolina State Board of Education. Crimminger, a native of South Carolina, attended public school in Lancaster County and graduated from Indian Land High School. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Secondary English Education from the University of South Carolina. She also holds a Masters in Early Childhood from USC and Education Leadership from Winthrop University.
Mrs. Crimminger retired in 2019 from the Lancaster County School District after being in education for 42 years. She taught English in high school and junior high, served as a high school assistant principal, and ended her career as principal of South Middle School. She currently serves as a part-time adjunct professor at Winthrop University.
Crimminger lives in the Edgewater Community in Lancaster where she serves as the chair of their social committee. She is married to Rick Crimminger and is the mother of Chris Crimminger and Brittany Price. Mrs. Crimminger has four young grandsons; Caleb, Cody, Keegan and Kohen, all living in South Carolina.
Mrs. Crimminger is honored to be able to use her years of experience and love of education as a member of the State Board of Education. She looks forward to being a continued advocate for students and teachers in the counties she represents.
