The South Carolina Department of Education is partnering with several other organizations to host the Read to Succeed Summer Reading Camp Symposium from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., Wednesday, February 28th, at the Richland Two Institute of Innovation (R2i2), located at 763 Fashion Drive in Columbia.

Three Schools in South Carolina Will be Gifted A $100,000 Don't Quit! Fitness Center From the National Foundation for Governors' Fitness Councils

Governor Henry McMaster joined South Carolina Superintendent of Education Molly Spearman to announce that fitness icon Jake Steinfeld, Chairman of the National Foundation for Governors’ Fitness Councils (NFGFC), has kicked off 2018 by selecting the State of South Carolina for its 2018 DON’T QUIT! fitness campaign. The NFGFC will deliver a state-of-the-art DON’T QUIT! Fitness Center to three schools for demonstrating leadership in getting and keeping their students fit.

EPA Awards South Carolina $620,000 For Cleaner School Buses

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has awarded South Carolina with $620,000 to replace 31 school buses with new cleaner models.
