Description
The purpose of this subgrant opportunity is to improve the identification, enrollment, attendance, and success in school of homeless children and youth. LEAs will use funds to focus on enhanced identification and delivery of services to homeless children and youth by establishing policies and procedures, developing communication tools and resources, and collaborating and coordinating services and training on best practices with internal and external agencies and organizations. The targeted activities for this subgrant are listed on pages 4–5 of the application instructions.

Eligible Applicants
All South Carolina LEAs that do
not currently have a McKinney-Vento competitive subgrant are eligible to apply for this non-competitive subgrant. See page 27 of the application instructions for a list of the 62 eligible LEAs.

$500,000
Funding Detail
Each qualifying LEA that submits an approvable application will receive an award of up to $10,000.
