The following grant training resources provide potential applicants with guidance and assistance in proposal development and grants management.

  • South Carolina State Library  - The State Library develops, supports, and sustains a thriving statewide community of learners committed to making South Carolina (SC) stronger.  
    • Grants Research Assistance - Search an extensive collection of publications designed to assist nonprofit organizations and individuals seeking grant funding from private and corporate foundations and government agencies.  Grant seekers can also attend classes on finding funding and proposal writing.  Also includes a link to the Foundation Directory online.
  • SchoolSafety..gov - SchoolSafety.gov was created by the federal government to provide schools and districts with actionable recommendations to create a safe and supportive learning environment where students can thrive and grow. 
    • Grants Finder Tool - is designed as a decision-making support tool to help kindergarten through grade 12 (K-12) schools and districts determine the eligibility and applicability of funding opportunities for their specific needs, challenges, and characteristics and was developed to enable members of the K-12 community to more easily find, apply for, and ultimately receive funding that can be used to implement and enhance school safety measures.
  • TogetherSC  - Together SC is South Carolina’s only organization focused solely on supporting and strengthening the state’s nonprofit community through education, advocacy, communications, collaboration and leadership.
  • Grantspace.org - Grantspace.org is a service of the Foundation Center that provides tools and on-demand training.
  • The Grantsmanship Center - Has free state page resources and tools that can guide you during your grant proposal writing journey.  Each state page is tailored specifically to that state, sharing local foundations and government agencies that serve nonprofit communities.  This website also offers other grant training resources.
  • Grants Learning Center at Grants.gov - The gateway to the federal grants world, the Grants Learning Center provides information on the basics about a grant's life cycle and management, grant laws and regulations for federal awards, grant eligibility, and so much more.  
  • USED Grants Training and Management Resources - The United States Department of Education provides grants training and management resources through online grants training courses.
  • Application Guidance - What and Why (PDF, 615kb - 10/3/19) - This presentation will provide information on how to use the application guidance provided by a possible funder in order to complete a proposal or application.
  • Unfunded Application?  Now What? (PDF, 4.14kb - 10/4/19) - This presentation will help you learn how to review the results of an unsuccessful application and to strengthen your proposals in the future.
