The Principal Supervisor Initiative Pilot Program is designed for current principal supervisors across South Carolina who serve as senior instructional leaders and vital connectors between district offices and schools. If you’re responsible for coaching, supporting, evaluating, and developing school principals, this program is tailored to help you grow your role.
Whether you're navigating the complexities of instructional leadership or striving to build stronger school communities, this pilot program offers the tools, strategies, and support you need to lead with impact.
This statewide pilot program includes a mix of in-person and virtual learning experiences:
Five full-day, in-person sessions focused on instructional leadership and student-centered practices will be held monthly from January through Spring 2026. All sessions will take place in the Midlands region (zip code 29172).
Monthly 1-hour virtual small group coaching sessions to support differentiated leadership development.
Participation limited to 30 participants.
Develop and communicate a clear instructional vision aligned with district goals.
Coach principals to lead rigorous, engaging classrooms and foster cultures of deep student learning.
Provide actionable feedback on instructional practices.
Practice student-centered supervision at school, district, and classroom levels.
Use differentiated coaching strategies to meet diverse leadership needs.
Set personal leadership goals and model continuous growth.
Analyze data to address diverse student learning needs.
Build strategic skills to engage school communities and support principals effectively.
Each in-person session runs from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm. Superintendent or designee permission is required prior to session one and attendance is required for all sessions. Participants/district are responsible for travel and/or hotel fees, if applicable.
There is no fee associated with this course.
