Processing Time for Applications and Requests

Complete applications and requests with all documentation on file are processed in the order in which they are received.

To expedite processing, please gather all documentation needed prior to submitting an application or request.

Educator Identification Account Number (EID)

Each individual who has a certification record on file with the South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE) has been issued an Educator Identification Account Number or EID. Please use your EID account number at all times when communicating with the Office of Educator Services. Individuals issued a South Carolina educator certificate will also have a Certificate Identification Number (CID)—but your EID is your primary account number with the SCDE.

Your EID account number is available through your user account in the new SC Educator Portal.

My SC Educator Portal

Through My SC Educator Portal, you can check your certification status; submit applications, requests, and fee payments; review fingerprint procedures; update your contact information, review the status of requests; and print a current certificate. If you have not done so, please create a user account in this new system that launched on May 5, 2022. Your user name will be the email address you submit when creating the account.

The customer support team in the Office of Educator Services is available to assist applicants and educators by email and telephone. Please note that complete certification applications and requests with all documentation on file are evaluated in the order in which they are received.
