Overview of PSO Team Mission
The Post-Secondary Outcomes Team mission is to provide consistent, collaborative, and proactive support in post-secondary transition by using data-based decision making, educational best practices, community engagement, and fidelity of implementation to support all students to meet the profile of the South Carolina graduate (world-class knowledge, world-class skills, and life and career characteristics).
In order to achieve this mission, the Post-Secondary Outcomes Team will support LEAs by building capacity and infrastructure, so all students achieve post-school activities, such as career readiness, post-secondary education, vocational training, and competitive integrated employment, as measured by indicators 1, 2, 13, and 14 of the State Performance Plan and Annual Performance Report (SPP/APR).
In the state of South Carolina, to attain a standard diploma, a student must complete a total of 24 earned units that include coursework aligned with the South Carolina College and Career-Ready Standards for English Language Arts (four units), Mathematics (four units), Science (three units), and Social Studies (three units); one unit of technology course; one unit of physical education/health (or equivalent); one unit of foreign language or career and technology education; and seven electives.
The OSES Calendar will allow LEAs and stakeholders to access events, timely information, and important dates by month.
