The School Health Profiles help states and district education and health agencies monitor and assess the characteristics of school health education and services; physical education and physical activity; school health policies related to HIV infection/Aids, tobacco use and prevention; coordinated school health; safe and supportive school environment. Data from Profiles can be used to improve health programs and policies; identify health education topics and skills that are taught; identify topics for staff development; determine how well schools address the health and safety needs of their students.
Schools with at least one of grades 6 through 12 are randomly selected by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and sent to South Carolina.
