The South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE) continues to fund online PowerSchool Role-Based Certification training for district staff members.
Purpose of Role-Based Certification Courses
The purpose of PowerSchool Role-Based Certification courses is to provide targeted training to school staff whose PowerSchool-related roles have an impact on day-to-day school operations, student data entry, school report card ratings, and district funding.
Who is eligible to take a course?
School and district staff are eligible to take the certification courses.
Which courses will be offered?
- South Carolina Exclusive: Role-Based PowerTeacher Pro Gradebook for Teachers Certification
- South Carolina Exclusive: Front Office Certification
- South Carolina Exclusive: School Counselor Certification
- South Carolina Exclusive: Principal Certification
All courses are offered in the new enhanced user interface.
How do I initiate staff sign-up for Role-Based Certification courses?
- District SIS Administrators will need to assess their district’s needs and select staff that will benefit from this training and certification program. There is no limit on how many staff members may attend at this time.
- Staff members selected for training must have an active PowerSource account. District technical contacts seeking guidance on how to create PowerSource accounts for their school district should reference a PDF previously shared called “PowerSource Administrator’s Guide.”
- Staff members will then need to be scheduled for the training that they will be taking. The certification courses that are for South Carolina will have “South Carolina Exclusive” within the title of the course.
- Enter the following payment information for each enrollment:
Required Payment Type: Select "Please use my existing Funds" from the dropdown.
Required Project/Quote Number: 090570 or add the project/quote number to the text field.
I need to download my digital badge for a particular certification. How do I access it?
To access a copy of your certification certificate:
- Log in to Customer Education Campus (https://training.powerschool.com)
- In the main navigation, click Achievements
- Locate your certification and click Download Certificate
